Streptococcus vaccine

What is streptococcus: it is one of the most commonly diagnosed human pathogenic bacteria, with the capacity to cause several diseases, the most common being bacterial pharyngitis, although it is also responsible for infections of various locations such as otitis media, mastitis, meningitis, infections in the superficial layers of the skin and more serious pathologies such as rheumatic fever.


What is the vaccine for?: The non-conjugated streptococcal vaccine protects against the 23 most common serotypes, it is recommended to apply it to babies between 6 and 10 weeks old.
